Comprehensive Spending Review 2007

*

The UK Government's Comprehensive Spending Review 2007 (CSR 07) set the overall budget for public sector spending until 2011, outlining an extensive programme of long-term Government investment priorities that will help deliver:

  • Sustainable growth and prosperity
  • Fairness and opportunities for all
  • Stronger communities and a better quality of life
  • A more secure, fair and environmentally sustainable world

To ensure that this is achieved, CSR 07 empowers the implementation of the UK Government’s IT Strategy, ‘Transformational Government – Enabled by Technology’, which sets out its vision for 21st century government. It is a vision that delivers government services for the convenience of the citizen or business and one that is enabled by a culture of shared services and IT professionalism. For this vision to become reality, the public sector is reliant on the successful integration of the latest information and communication technology, in a practical but secure environment.
